mountains have this ability to take you far away from your everyday
reality and boredom. And with inspiration like that, the Corona Extra
Winter Tour is bound to serve some amazing action and moments. The WINTER TOUR, born in 1999 is today the reference freestyle tour of the snowkite in the world. The show 2005 will count 3 stages, in 3 different countries (France, Switzerland, Norway). It seems, indeed, significant meeting the practise and the sites the whole world. The sites of competitions are selected according to the potentialities of the country : the level of the quality of the site and on the level of the practise. |

Stage
1 : Col du Lautaret - France - 10 to 15 january Stage 2 : Col du Simplon - Switzeland - 7 to 12 february 2005 Stage 3 : Geilo - Norway - 4 to 9 april 2005 This unique event get together the best riders world of this discipline : ski and snowboard, which ensures a permanent show where the spectacle is very important as much as the sports result. |

whether it's on skis or board this promises to be a freestyle show
on another plane altogether ! The very best of the world's snowkite riders will be present for an intense, top-level contest at one of THE world snowkite spots, just cross your fingers for good wind and snow conditions ! The competitors are judged on their style (free evolution) according to several criteria : Jumps & Figures : amplitude of the jumps (attention: no flight of slope) - difficulty and originality of the figures - taking risk, placement of wing. Tricks & Operations : transitions - tricks on the ground General style : ease/fluidity - behavior in the air The stages last from 7 to 10 minutes with minimum 4 riders on the ground. This formula gives a dynamics and a good comprehension of the public. |

Stage
1 : Col du Lautaret - France - 10 to 15 january
What strikes you first is the splendour of where you are. A perfect blue sky, a sun which couldn't shine harder if it tried, mountains disappearing into the distance. Relaxed atmosphere, everyone smiling. There's a spectacular show setting up, the beautiful coloured kites sweeping past mountain tops. The competition hasn't actually started yet when Chasta (reigning snowboard champion Guillaume Chastagnol) lets rip with a massive kiteloop. 2.00 pm : Draw for heats :the Juniors and Women will get first use of this fantastic spot. | After
a superb opening round at Col du Lautaret (France), the Corona
Extra Winter Tour is back in action in early February with
the second round of the 2005 Tour, this time as guests of our Swiss
snowkiting colleagues at Col du Simplon. Another fantastic opportunity for the cream of the world's riders to give it out big time and put on a super snow-show. We're all hoping that the clean Swiss air will encourage the kiters to really go for it on good snow and in optimum conditions. |
